July 17, 2020, marked the end of a two-month lockdown in Nairobi, and I couldn't wait to get back out there and explore the country. As I sat in my apartment, I felt a sense of restlessness, a feeling that I was meant for more than the 24/7 city life.

While in lockdown, I had mapped out all the places I wanted to visit, from the stunning Masai Mara to the scenic Karura Forest. I had even discovered a new athlete category called ultra running, which involved running 50 kilometres. But as I read the quote on that page, 'Go Out, Challenge Yourself, the Reward is worthwhile,' I thought I'd rather go for a massage after a run.

My phone buzzed with excitement as I completed my payment for the weekend plan using my Co-op Cash App. But then I thought of my partner, who had been in Voi at her folks' place all this while. I must video call her, because what I had planned couldn't be properly relayed over a phone call.

As we chatted, she suggested a couple's package, and I joked that I must have forgotten I was dating. But she wasn't amused. The next course of action was to get her here, and I quickly booked her on the Business class of the next bus to Nairobi using Co-op Bank's online banking.

With that sorted, I couldn't stop smiling. It was going to be lit! That's my weekend sorted, and I should vlog this.
