On Friday morning, a devastating incident occurred in Orgira village, Ololtulugum location in Kajiado Central, where a six-year-old boy lost his life after being mauled by a leopard.
The boy was among a group of children herding goats during the morning hours when the leopard attacked, according to Joshua Marine, the family's spokesman.
Human-wildlife conflict has been a recurring issue in Kajiado, resulting in loss of property and even life on several occasions.
Confirming the incident, Ahmed Hillo, the Mashuru Sub-county Commander, stated that the leopard that attacked the child escaped after the incident.
The body of the deceased was moved to the Kajiado County Referral Hospital mortuary.
