On July 17, 2020, a resident of Chuka in Meru County left his neighbors stunned after setting his house ablaze while drunk.
According to eyewitnesses, the man had returned home drunk and started by breaking the locks of his landlord's house where he had been renting his father's property.
"The neighbors tried to stop him, but he claimed the house belonged to his father," one of the witnesses said.
Despite their efforts to calm him down, the man continued to cause chaos, and the neighbors eventually left him alone, warning him that they would retaliate by burning down his kitchen.
"We left him alone, but when we returned in the morning, we found that he had set his house ablaze," another witness revealed.
The incident has left the community in shock, with many wondering how someone could engage in such reckless behavior.
