Joseph Irungu, alias Jowie, has been reflecting on his faith and relationship with God amidst his ongoing murder trial.

On November 19, 2019, Jowie appeared at the Milimani High Court in Nairobi to face charges of killing businesswoman Monica Kimani at Lamuria Garden in Nairobi.

After being released on a Sh2 million cash bail in February this year, Jowie has been maintaining a low profile.

However, he recently made a comeback on social media, sharing inspirational quotes that reflect his spiritual journey.

One of the quotes reads, “What are you afraid of losing when nothing in the world actually belongs to you?”

He followed it up with another quote, “God has a tendency of picking up a nobody, to become a somebody in front of everybody without asking anybody,”

These quotes suggest that Jowie is seeking solace in his faith as he navigates the complexities of his trial.

He is facing murder charges alongside his ex-fiancée, former news anchor Jacque Maribe, for the death of Monica Kimani, who was found dead in a bathtub in her house in Nairobi's Kilimani area in 2018.
