Many international students assume that having a valid US student visa automatically grants them legal immigration status in the country. However, this is not the case.

When entering the US, a student visa allows for admission at the port of entry, typically an airport. However, the visa stamp on a passport is not the determining factor for a student's legal immigration status.

For instance, if a student is granted a 2-year visa but drops out of school after only one semester due to financial constraints, their visa remains valid for two years. Nevertheless, their immigration status as a student is terminated.

As explained in a video on the Success With Bob Mwiti Show, this distinction is crucial for international students to understand.

Bob Mwiti, a former international student in the US and senior IT consultant, emphasizes the importance of grasping this concept. He shares his experiences and expertise to help students navigate the complexities of US immigration.

As the programs director of Appstec America, a consulting company based in Tampa, Florida, Mwiti aims to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the US.
