Police Officer Arrested, Quarantined After Raping COVID-19 Patient in Busia

Published on July 17, 2020, a police officer in Busia County was arrested and quarantined after he was found raping a COVID-19 patient.

The officer was one of several law enforcement officials stationed at the Agricultural Training Centre, an isolation facility for coronavirus patients.

According to a police report, one of the officers on routine patrol noticed the suspect 'engaging a patient' and became uncomfortable, prompting him to return to the guard room.

He later shared his concerns with his colleagues, who became suspicious and decided to investigate further.

Upon investigating, the officers found the suspect and the patient in a compromising situation, prompting them to summon health officers to the scene.

The officer was disarmed by his senior colleagues and quarantined within the same facility.
