On July 17, 2020, a disturbing incident occurred at the Agricultural Training Centre, an isolation facility in Busia, where a COVID-19 patient was allegedly raped by a prison warden.

The centre, set aside by the Ministry of Health for coronavirus patients, was guarded by six police officers, including the accused, Emmanuel Ng'etich.

According to a police report, Ng'etich and his colleague, Jeff Obondo, were on patrol at around 10:00 PM when they encountered a patient, Fanice Chepkemoi.

However, their interaction quickly turned violent, with the report stating that the patients outside the women's ward began complaining that Ng'etich was raping Chepkemoi.

The police officers immediately became suspicious and rushed to the scene, where they found the patients outside and Chepkemoi allegedly being raped.

The incident has sparked outrage, with the police taking swift action to disarm Ng'etich and investigate the matter further.
