July 17, 2020 - The Jubilee Party's financial woes have sent the Kieleweke brigade into panic mode, with reports emerging that the party is broke.

Following the ongoing purge in the party, those who were kicked out or demoted from powerful positions have joined forces to oppose the current leadership and regain control of the party.

However, the Tangatanga brigade, allied to Deputy President William Ruto, has launched a counterattack against the Kieleweke brigade, which is now in full control of the ruling party.

According to the Auditor-General's report, the party has been technically insolvent since the financial year ending June 30, 2018, with a current liabilities balance of Sh133,558,229 exceeding current assets of Sh67,278,244 by Sh66,279,985.

As per the Political Parties Act of 2011, a political party declared bankrupt should be dissolved, which could be used by the Tangatanga brigade to bring down the ruling party.

The Jubilee Party's deputy Secretary-general has requested the party's Secretary-general, Raphael Tuju, to provide financial records from 2018 to 2020, which could further exacerbate the party's financial struggles.
