Published on July 17, 2020, by Rachel Murugi, a relationship expert, shares insights on how to identify if your best friend is in love with you.

While it's common to fall in love with your best friend, recognizing the signs can be challenging. However, there are subtle cues that can indicate their true feelings.

One of the most obvious signs is a significant difference in body language. If your best friend frequently makes attempts to touch or tap you, or if you catch them staring at you, it may be a sign that they're attracted to you.

Another sign is their jealousy when others flirt with you. If your best friend becomes uncomfortable or tries to intervene when you're interacting with someone else, it could be a sign that they're feeling possessive or insecure.

They may also go out of their way to do things for you, such as moving mountains to help you or standing in for you. This level of dedication and sensitivity to your emotions can be a sign that they're deeply invested in your relationship.

Constant communication is another sign that your best friend might be in love with you. If you find yourself spending most of your time chatting with them, and they're always the first to reach out, it could be a sign that they're trying to deepen your connection.

Finally, if your best friend becomes insecure or protective when you're around other people, it may be a sign that they're feeling possessive or territorial. Similarly, if they constantly tell stories about the two of you, it could be a sign that they're trying to create a sense of closeness or intimacy.
