On July 17, 2020, Beyoncé Knowles gave a nod to Kenyan artist Theresia Kyalo by listing her on the 'Directory of Black Owned Businesses' on her website.

However, the creative world is not without its controversies. Kenyan singer Victoria Kimani has accused American R&B singer Summer Walker of stealing her album artwork.

Kimani's debut album 'Safari' was shot by Kenyan photographer Clement Kiragu, and Summer Walker's latest album cover 'Life on Earth' bears a striking resemblance to Kimani's work.

Kimani took to social media to express her disappointment, saying 'Great minds think alike?' and sharing images of both album covers.

When asked about the incident, Kiragu told Standard Entertainment & Lifestyle that it was possible that both teams had the same idea, but Kimani was skeptical, saying that her work gets 'borrowed' all the time.
