On a thrilling Thursday evening in the English Premier League, Manchester United and Leicester City secured crucial wins that kept their Champions League hopes alive.

Manchester United's victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park was a hard-fought one, with Marcus Rashford breaking the deadlock in first-half stoppage time and Anthony Martial scoring the second goal in the 78th minute.

Leicester City, meanwhile, secured a vital 2-0 win over Sheffield United, with Ayoze Perez scoring the opener in the 29th minute and Demarai Gray sealing the win with a counter-attacking goal.

The Foxes' victory means they stay fourth in the league, a point behind third-placed Chelsea with two games remaining, and also qualifies them for next season's Europa League.

Manchester United's win, meanwhile, keeps them in fifth place, level on points with Leicester City but with an inferior goal difference.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, slumped to their sixth consecutive league loss, with Roy Hodgson's side feeling a sense of injustice after being denied a penalty and having a potential equaliser ruled out by VAR.
