On March 14, 2019, the Magical Kenya Open golf tournament was held at the Karen Country Club in Nairobi, showcasing the beauty of the sport.

Fast forward to 2020, and the tournament is set to return to the same venue on November 12-15, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many had doubted whether the European Tour would be willing to host a tournament in Kenya, but with the resumption of competitions in Europe and the US PGA, it seems that the conditions for the Kenya Open will be similar - without spectators and under strict health guidelines.

Traditionally, the Kenya Open is a social event where both golf enthusiasts and non-golfers come together to enjoy the game and the atmosphere. However, with the pandemic, it's unlikely that corporate sponsors will be able to bring their guests to the course.

But all is not lost. The European Tour will still broadcast the tournament live on TV, and Standard Group PLC will be the official local broadcast partners, airing the event on KTN.

This means that golf enthusiasts can still follow the tournament from the comfort of their own homes, watching the action unfold on different holes and following several players at once.

Additionally, the golf clinics for junior golfers can now reach a wider audience, and the young ones can learn from their favourite professionals on TV.

For those who usually gather with friends to watch the game, they can still do so and enjoy each other's company while watching the tournament on TV.

And for corporate organizations, they can still reach their customers and golf enthusiasts through TV broadcasts, making the most of the situation.
