Dr. Lukoye Atwoli, a respected figure in the medical field, has taken on a new role as the Dean of Medical College at the Aga Khan University in East Africa. This appointment comes after his tenure as the Dean of Moi University's School of Medicine, a position he held until the end of 2019.

According to a memo released by the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Prof. Carl Amirhein, Dr. Atwoli's appointment is a significant development for the Aga Khan University. Dr. Atwoli's impressive credentials and experience make him an ideal candidate for this role.

Dr. Atwoli's academic background is impressive, with a PhD from the University of Cape Town, a Master's degree in Psychiatry from the University of Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from Moi University School of Medicine. He is also a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH).

Dr. Atwoli's appointment as Dean of Medical College at the Aga Khan University is a testament to his expertise and dedication to the field of medicine. He is known for his research on trauma and post-traumatic syndromes, students and youth mental health, and neuropsychiatric genetics.

Dr. Atwoli is also a social and health rights advocate, and has influenced and participated in the development of numerous policies and programs in Kenya. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the Kenya Medical Association and is the Secretary-General of the African Association of Psychiatrists.
