Babu Owino Wants Uhuru Kenyatta to Remain in Power After 2022

Published on July 16, 2020

Member of Parliament for Embakasi East, Babu Owino, has expressed his desire for President Uhuru Kenyatta to remain in power after 2022, suggesting that he would be a suitable candidate for the position of Prime Minister.

According to Babu Owino, President Kenyatta is 'too valuable' to leave office and should continue to serve as Prime Minister in the next government.

However, this is not the first time that Babu Owino has expressed his support for President Kenyatta. In 2017, he was one of the President's most vocal critics, but he has since become a strong supporter of the President's administration.

It is worth noting that the Constitution of Kenya does not provide for the position of Prime Minister, but Babu Owino's comments suggest that he believes that President Kenyatta would be a suitable candidate for the position.

President Kenyatta's term in office is set to end in 2022, and it remains to be seen whether he will seek to remain in power or step down.
