Moiben MP Silas Tiren has reclaimed his position as the Agriculture Committee chairman, a role he previously held from 2017 to 2018.
On Thursday, Tiren was elected unopposed to the position, taking over from Mandera South lawmaker Adan Ali, who was among the 16 allies of Deputy President William Ruto axed from committee leadership last month by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Laikipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru was also elected vice-chairperson of the committee, replacing Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe, who was elevated to the House leadership and is now the Chief Whip in the National Assembly.
