On his online show Bonga na Jalas, comedian and radio presenter Jalang'o made a public promise to his friend Alex Mwakideu that he would no longer drink alcohol.
Published on July 16, 2020, Jalang'o's decision came after Mwakideu shared with him that he had been sober for the last eight months.
During the conversation, Mwakideu asked Jalang'o to quit drinking as a gift, to which Jalang'o agreed, saying, "Ungependa ni wache pombe? Wacha leo ikuwe the last dance, sitawahi kunywa pombe tena. Basi nimewacha pombe kabisa," as they shook hands.
It was also revealed that Jalang'o and Mwakideu had initially planned to leave their radio careers at Milele FM and join politics in 2022, but Jalang'o suddenly left Milele FM and joined Kiss FM.
Mwakideu, however, is set to join politics in 2022, vying for the parliamentary seat in Wundanyi, and has announced that Milele FM will be his last radio job.
