On July 16, 2020, Kenya marked a significant milestone in its fight against Covid-19, recording the highest recovery rate in the country.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, 570 patients were declared recovered within a 24-hour period, taking the total number of recovered patients to 3,638.
Of the new recoveries, 512 were on home-based care, while 58 were in hospitals across the country.
The country's coronavirus caseload reached 11,673 after the Health minister announced 421 additional cases, including 409 Kenyans and 12 foreigners, with ages ranging from one year to 93.
