On July 16, 2020, a major breakthrough was made in the fight against crime in central Kenya as a gang of four suspects was arrested in connection with a string of kidnappings, robberies, and rape cases.
The suspects, comprising three men and a woman, have a history of crime, with the woman facing a murder case in a Nanyuki court and her male colleagues having several robbery cases pending before various courts.
According to George Kinoti, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss, the gang is linked to at least 25 robberies and a rape case, with eight of the cases reported in Mathira Sub County, Nyeri County.
