Kenyan radio presenter Billy Miya has spoken out about his grueling battle with kidney stones that landed him in the hospital for a week.

According to a recent interview with Pulse Live, Miya was on his way to a police station to settle a pending issue when he began experiencing severe abdominal pains.

'I had an appointment with the police, so on reaching the police station I experienced very sharp pains in succession just below my belly,' Miya recalled.

Despite trying to hold on, the pains became unbearable, prompting Miya to seek medical attention at an AAR healthcare facility, where he was later referred to another hospital for further diagnosis.

After undergoing a laser operation to alleviate the pain, Miya was hospitalized for a week to aid in his recovery.

'When I couldn't take it anymore I drove myself to AAR where they referred me to a hospital where I got diagnosed with kidney stones. I stayed in the hospital for a week after going through laser operation,' Miya shared.

As a popular radio presenter, Miya has been known for his morning show BillyNaTricky on Standard Group's Radio Maisha, which he co-hosted with comedian MCA Tricky before his exit last week.

Following his departure, Miya has been reassigned to the Evening Drive show, previously hosted by Shuga Boy and Emmanuel Mwashume.
