On Thursday, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) revealed that 37 people are under investigation for their alleged roles in the recent violence in Narok South and Narok North sub-counties.
According to the commission, the violence, which occurred this year, resulted in the deaths of eight people and the destruction of several houses, as two communities clashed over a stolen cow.
NCIC chairman Dr. Samuel Kobia emphasized the commission's commitment to restoring peace and sanity in the region, stating that they would not relent in their efforts to achieve this goal.
Dr. Kobia also warned that any Kenyan found propagating hate speech would face the law, regardless of their position in society, and that even musicians who promote hatred would not be spared.
As part of their efforts to promote peace and unity, the NCIC has summoned musician Njenga wa Muigai, who produced a song inciting people to prepare for chaos in the next General Election.
The commission has also advocated for equal distribution of resources and national wealth as a means of ensuring that peace and unity are sustained.
