Published on July 16, 2020, Kirinyaga County Assembly member John Baptist Kanga is facing serious allegations of land forgery and fraud.

According to the charge sheet, Kanga, the Wamumu ward representative, allegedly forged land documents in 2013 to defraud four families of their parcels of land worth millions of shillings.

The documents, which included an allotment letter for Plot No. Wanguru/160, were purportedly issued by the Commissioner of Lands in Nairobi.

However, the MCA has denied all the charges, and the prosecution has lined up 11 witnesses to testify in the case.

It is worth noting that Kanga gained national popularity last month after shaving off his hair to celebrate the impeachment of Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru.

Although the motion to impeach Waiguru failed in the senate, Kanga's actions sparked a viral video where he stated that the act symbolized the end of Waiguru's era.
