Comedian and Kiss FM morning show co-host Jalango has expressed his grief over the death of Lady Maureen, a close friend and Luo Ohangla music queen. Speaking on Mpasho Live, Jalango revealed that Lady Maureen's passing was a devastating blow to him.

According to Jalango, he was very close to Lady Maureen, who had performed at all his shows at the Luo Festival, except for the last one when she fell ill.

"I was very close to Lady Maureen. She performed in all my shows at the Luo Festival apart from the last one when she got sick," Jalango said on Mpasho Live.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting regulations, the burial of Lady Maureen is expected to be a low-key affair, with only close family and friends allowed to attend. The burial is scheduled to take place on Saturday at the family's home in Kopanga village, along the Kenya-Tanzania border.

The organisers of the burial are requesting police assistance to enforce COVID-19 rules and maintain order during the funeral.

Maureen Achieng, as she was known, will be laid to rest in her family home in Suna West constituency, with fans expected to cross over from Tanzania to pay their respects.
