On July 14th, 2020, Kenya celebrated Bastille Day with a live virtual concert featuring Eric Wainaina, Muthoni the Drummer Queen, and Octopizzo.
The event, organized by Alliance Francaise, was held on social media platforms due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eric Wainaina kicked off the concert with his famous hits, including 'Nchi ya Kitu Kidogo', 'Daima Kenya', and 'Ritwa Riaku', warming up the online audience.
Muthoni the Drummer Queen, clad in a chain-like face mask, performed hits such as 'Nai ni Who', 'Million Voice', 'Power', and 'Suzie Noma' with the support of two talented dancers.
Octopizzo, known as Kibera's finest, was the showstopper, performing songs like 'Red Namba Plate', 'Ivo Ivo Ivo', 'Something for You', and 'TBT'.
The concert began with speeches from the French Ambassador to Kenya, Aline Kuster-Menager, and Cabinet Secretary for Sports, Heritage and Culture, Amina Mohamed, who appreciated the continued cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the virtual concert was a huge success, with fans praising the performances of the three Kenyan artistes.
