Comedian and radio personality Felix Odiwuor, alias Jalango, has set his sights on a career in politics, announcing his intention to run for the Langata constituency seat in the 2022 general elections.
Speaking in a recent interview, Jalango cited his desire to make a positive impact on people's lives as the driving force behind his decision to join politics.
'I went to school to finish my courses at Daystar University where I also studied community development. I realized how much you can do for the community,' Jalango said.
He added, 'For you to make people listen to you, you have to make a difference in their life and I want to do that by making Langata great again.'
When asked for his thoughts on fellow celebrity politician Babu Tale, who is vying for a seat in Morogoro, Jalango wished him luck and acknowledged that Tale was running in his home constituency.
With his sights set on a career in politics, Jalango has announced that he will be leaving his job at Kiss FM, citing his ambition to serve the people of Langata as the Member of Parliament.
Incumbent MP Nixon Korir currently holds the Langata seat, but Jalango is confident that he can make a difference and bring positive change to the constituency.
He joins a growing list of celebrities who have ventured into politics, including John 'KJ' Kiarie, Jaguar, and Steve Mbogo.
