A CCTV camera captured a daring Ksh1 million robbery in Nairobi's Westlands area on June 19, 2020.
The footage shows a woman and two men breaking into an office, where they stole equipment worth Ksh1 million, including laptops and money.
The owner of the business premises, Bison Technologies, had just sold his car the previous day to finance a project in Northern Kenya.
He had closed the business for the day and was not present when the incident occurred at around 6 p.m.
The suspects entered the compound as visitors while the guards were changing shifts and noticed the CCTV camera on the front door.
They tilted the camera away, mastered the locks on the metallic door, and used a crowbar to break into the wooden door.
After accessing the premises, they ransacked the office, looking out for new items and leaving the old ones.
The company, which deals with radio frequency communication equipment, had received new stock and also had some old equipment that needed repair.
The robbers put all the new equipment into their backpacks and walked out of the compound unnoticed.
The next day, on June 20, the employees did not notice the office had been broken into since the thugs had mastered the locks and replaced them.
A report was then filed with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Monday, June 22, and tracing of the equipment has already commenced.
The company appealed to members of the public to help in identifying the culprits and bring them to book.
CCTV camera footage has helped detectives solve many robbery cases in the recent past.
Four suspects connected with a robbery incident captured on camera along Lenana Road on June 25 were arrested by DCI detectives based at Kilimani on June 29.
