Comedian Paul 'Wakimani' Ogutu has finally spoken out about the traumatic experience he went through after the death of comedian Ayeiya in 2017.

According to Ogutu, he was served with court documents by Ayeiya's wife demanding that he pays KSh 21 million as compensation, alleging that he was responsible for the comedian's death.

Speaking in an interview, Ogutu revealed that he had tried to work things out with Ayeiya's family but with no success, leading to a court case that stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"After burying Ayeiya, we came back to Nairobi, and when we came back, I thought that everyone understood that it was an accident. So after a week or two, Ayeiya's wife called me and told me she had my letter and I told her I would go see her after I was done with whatever I was doing," Ogutu said.

"So that day I was not able to meet her so I met her on the second day. On that second day, she was serving me a court order that I am supposed to pay for killing her husband," he added.

It is worth noting that comedian Zeddy had previously revealed that Ogutu was being asked to pay KSh 21 million, a claim that Ogutu has now confirmed.

Comedian Ayeiya passed away in 2017 following a grisly road accident on Magadi road, where the vehicle he was in reportedly lost control and hit an electric pole.
