Comedian Ayieya's death in a 2017 road accident has led to a shocking demand for compensation from his wife, who is seeking KSh 21 million from comedian Wakimani, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
According to Wakimani, Ayieya's wife served him with a court letter just a week after his burial, claiming that Wakimani was responsible for her husband's death.
Wakimani claims that he assumed people understood that Ayieya died in an accident, and that he was not to blame for his death.
However, Ayieya's wife and her lawyer have disputed this, claiming that Wakimani was responsible for the accident and that he should pay compensation for Ayieya's death.
According to the lawyer, the compensation demand is based on Ayieya's earnings, which were KSh 300,000 per month, and the fact that he died at the age of 31, when he was supposed to be retiring at 55.
The case is currently in court.
