On July 16, 2020, Dr. Michael Munene, a landlord in Nyandarua county, made headlines for his selfless act of waiving rent for his tenants due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fast forward to April 2020, Dr. Munene has once again shown his generosity by extending the rent waiver for another month, allowing his tenants to continue living comfortably without the burden of rent payments.

Dr. Munene owns 28 residential houses and six commercial stores at Ndunyu Njeru trading center, with each residential house renting for Sh3,000 per month and the commercial stores for Sh5,000.

By waiving rent for the past four months, Dr. Munene has surrendered a total of Sh456,000 in rental income, a testament to his commitment to helping his tenants during these hard times.

According to Dr. Munene, the rent waiver will enable his tenants to afford food and other basic needs for their families, allowing them to live comfortably during the pandemic.

One of Dr. Munene's tenants, Jane Muthoni, described her landlord as 'heaven sent', expressing her gratitude for his kindness and generosity.
