On July 15, 2020, a series of high-profile Twitter accounts were hacked, with the attackers seeking bitcoin donations. The affected accounts included those of billionaires Bill Gates and Elon Musk, as well as Silicon Valley giants Apple and Uber.
According to reports, many of the tweets were swiftly deleted, but not before they were seen by thousands of users. Twitter has since confirmed that it is investigating the matter and will issue a statement shortly.
As of now, Tesla, the company owned by Elon Musk, has not commented on the incident.
