On July 7, 2020, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, 65, tested positive for coronavirus for the second time, sparking concerns about his health and the country's response to the pandemic.

Despite being in a high-risk group due to his age, Bolsonaro has chosen to remain in quarantine at his official residence in Brasilia, where he continues to work by video conference.

He admitted to feeling frustrated with the routine of staying at home, telling CNN in a telephone interview that he was waiting 'anxiously' to be given the all-clear to leave the house.

Since his diagnosis, Bolsonaro has been confined to the presidential palace alongside other people who have already contracted the virus.

As he waits for the results of a new test, which he is due to take in the coming days, Bolsonaro has been keeping himself occupied by feeding rheas, a bird species native to South America, in the gardens of the official residence.

Brazil is the second worst affected country in the world by the coronavirus, with over 74,000 deaths and 1.9 million cases.
