On July 15, 2020, Kenya's Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman announced that the country had recorded 461 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 11,252.
According to Dr. Aman, the new cases were discovered in 4,261 samples tested between Tuesday and Wednesday, with 320 of the new patients being male and 141 female.
The youngest new patient was just 1 year old, while the oldest was 86 years old.
Of the 461 new cases, 432 were registered among Kenyan nationals, while 29 were foreigners.
The top seven most affected counties in terms of new infections were Nairobi (248), Machakos (97), Kiambu (20), Kajiado (15), Migori (14), Busia (12), and Nakuru (11).
Meanwhile, 51 more patients were discharged from various hospitals across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries in Kenya to 3,068.
Unfortunately, seven more patients succumbed to COVID-19 in Kenya, pushing the death toll arising from the disease to 209.
Dr. Aman also noted that out of the 209 deaths recorded in the country, four were registered among healthcare workers.
As of the announcement, Kenya had tested a total of 225,495 samples for COVID-19.
