On July 16, 2018, France captain Hugo Lloris and his team celebrated their World Cup victory at the Elysee Presidential Palace in Paris.

The 2022 World Cup is set to kick off in Qatar on November 21, 2022, at the 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, according to the schedule announced by FIFA and Qatar's Supreme Committee on Wednesday.

The final match will be held at the 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium in Doha on December 18, 2022.

The tournament will feature a group stage with four matches a day for 12 days, spread across eight stadiums in Qatar.

Group matches will start at 1:00 pm local time (10:00 GMT) and will be played at three-hour intervals, with the last match kicking off at 10:00 pm local time.

Qualification for the World Cup has begun in Asia and Africa, but is yet to start in Europe, the Americas, and Oceania.

Both the Al Bayt and Lusail stadiums are still under construction, with the Al Bayt stadium nearing completion.

Amnesty International has raised concerns about the treatment of migrant workers at the Al-Bayt stadium, with around 100 workers reportedly still owed outstanding wages.
