On July 15, 2020, Musalia Mudavadi, leader of the ANC party, held a meeting with some leaders from the Mount Kenya region.
Mudavadi had announced his intention to run for the presidency in the 2022 general election.
"I held a meeting with some leaders from Nyeri County, where we discussed several issues affecting residents, including the challenges faced by tea and coffee farmers," Mudavadi said.
During the meeting, the leaders expressed their concerns that the government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, was taking too long to distribute relief to farmers.
Mudavadi also revealed that the leaders had pledged to support his presidential bid in the 2022 election.
