Prophetess Monicah's Journey from Poverty to Prosperity ¶
Prophetess Monicah's rags-to-riches story is a testament to her hard work and determination. She rose from a life of poverty to become a successful pastor and church owner.
According to Monicah, she used to do casual jobs like washing utensils in hotels where she would be paid between KSh 50-80 and on a good day she would earn KSh 100 bob. In 2007, life was difficult for her, and she lived in a friend's house at Kibera.
Monicah shared her testimony on her Instagram account, where she revealed that she used to trek all the way to town since she could not afford to pay her bus fare. She would walk from Mathare through Mlango Kubwa to Gikomba then to Bus Station because bus fare was not enough to and fro.
Despite the challenges, Monicah persevered and eventually found a job at Msafiri hotel where she worked as a waitress and would be paid between KSh 250-300. She also hawked sweets, airtime, water among other things along Thika road and even did laundry for people.
Monicah's house was locked a couple of times, and she had to sleep in the church. She would send her son to her neighbor's place to eat and would come back later when she knew he was sorted.
Monicah's story is a testament to the power of hard work and determination. She has risen from a life of poverty to become a successful pastor and church owner, and her story is an inspiration to many.
