July 15, 2020 - Nairobi, Kenya - The Ministry of Health has reported that four healthcare workers have lost their lives to COVID-19 since the first case was detected in mid-March.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Rashid Aman expressed concern over the safety of healthcare workers, emphasizing the need to protect them adequately.

"The transmission of the disease among healthcare workers is often associated with a lack of established infection control practices and poor implementation of guidelines," Dr. Aman said.

As of Wednesday, 450 healthcare workers had tested positive for the virus, with the government prioritizing their safety as they continue to work on the frontlines.

"When healthcare workers are at risk, we are all at risk," Dr. Aman added, emphasizing the government's commitment to protecting them.
