Published on July 15, 2020, Kenya's Ministry of Health confirmed 461 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infections to 11,252.
According to a press briefing by Ministry of Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Dr. Rashid Aman, the new cases were confirmed after testing 4,261 samples over the last 24 hours.
Dr. Aman stated, 'The new cases were confirmed following testing of 4,261 samples over the last 24 hours.'
Seven more patients have succumbed to the coronavirus disease, increasing the number of fatalities to 209.
Additionally, 51 more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,068.
Of the 461 new cases, 432 are Kenyans and 29 are foreigners, with ages ranging from 1 to 86 years.
The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi recording the highest number of cases at 248, followed by Machakos with 97 cases.
So far, a total of 225,465 samples have been tested since the outbreak of the disease in the country.
