Coronavirus Pandemic Hits Women's Football in Coast Region ¶
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread across the country, women's football in the Coast region is facing a significant challenge. Many young players are struggling to balance their passion for the sport with the need to stay safe during the outbreak.
The pandemic has forced many schools to close, leaving students without access to sports facilities and coaches. This has had a devastating impact on the development of young players, who are missing out on valuable training and competition opportunities.
One of the affected teams is the Ukunda Vision Starlets FC, which has been forced to cancel its training sessions due to the pandemic. The team's coach, Elvina Baya, has expressed her concern about the impact of the pandemic on the team's players, who are struggling to stay motivated and focused.
'We are doing our best to keep the players engaged and motivated, but it's not easy,' Coach Baya said. 'We are trying to find ways to keep them active and engaged, but it's a challenge.'
One of the players, Jackline Sanga, has spoken out about the impact of the pandemic on her life. 'I was really looking forward to playing in the school championships, but the pandemic has ruined everything,' she said. 'I'm feeling really frustrated and disappointed.'
Another player, Ruth Kadzo, has also spoken out about the impact of the pandemic on her life. 'I've been feeling really sad and frustrated since the pandemic started,' she said. 'I was really looking forward to playing in the school championships, but now it seems like it's never going to happen.'
Despite the challenges, the team's coach is determined to keep the players engaged and motivated. 'We are going to do everything we can to keep the players active and engaged,' Coach Baya said. 'We will find a way to make it work.'
