On July 9, 2020, election strategist Steve Kramer revealed that Kanye West had dropped out of the US presidential race. West had announced his decision to run for the presidency two weeks prior.

West had hired campaign staff to explore the possibility of getting his name listed as a third-party candidate in several states, including Florida, where he needed 132,781 signatures by July 15 to appear on the ballot in November.

Despite having overwhelming support to get him on the ballot, West had already missed the deadline in many of the states. Kramer stated that West had 'overwhelming support' to get on the ballot, but whether anyone would vote for him was up to them.

West's decision to drop out of the presidential race comes after recent revelations that he may have suffered major setbacks, including missing the voter registration deadline in some states, which meant he missed the chance to appear on the ballot paper in six states across the country.
