Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has found herself in the middle of a heated drama surrounding the burial of Ohangla maestro Lady Maureen.

According to reports, Akothee was accused of insisting on buying Lady Maureen a coffin and refusing to take on any other responsibilities since other artists had contributed towards the burial arrangements.

However, in a lengthy post, Akothee clarified that she had only pledged to cover the costs of the hearse, coffin, and last respect cloths for Lady Maureen's burial.

Akothee stated that she had reached out to Lady Maureen's mother and settled on meeting the costs for three items, including the coffin, hearse, and last respect cloths.

She confirmed that Lady Maureen's mother had informed her that no one had shown up to contribute towards the burial arrangements.

Akothee then explained that she had ordered a dress for Lady Maureen from a local brand, which was ready to be sent, and had also arranged for her mother to meet Lady Maureen's family in Migori to choose a coffin.

However, Akothee's mother called her and said that Lady Maureen's family had not shown up to choose a coffin, and that she had been accused of insisting on buying a coffin and refusing to take on any other responsibilities.

Akothee shared a conversation she had with Jalango, in which he accused her of being selfish and refusing to contribute towards the burial arrangements.
