Atheists in Kenya Plan to Launch TV/Radio Station

July 15, 2020

The Atheists in Kenya Society has announced plans to launch a TV/radio station in the country, with the aim of advancing their anti-Godism ideologies.

According to the society's president, Harrison Mumia, the TV/radio station will provide a platform for atheists to express their views and engage in conversations with the public.

Mumia has appealed to Kenyans to share their views and support the society's bold move, which has sparked mixed reactions from the public.

The Atheists in Kenya Society was legally registered in 2016 but was later revoked by the government. However, Mumia successfully challenged the suspension of the society in the High Court of Kenya in February 2018.

Since then, the society has grown its membership and has become vocal in contributing to social, economic, and political debates in the country.

As part of their efforts to engage with the public, the society has offered to pay school fees for a bright young boy who scored 401 marks in the 2019 KCPE exams at Emining Primary School in Baringo county.

However, the move sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some turning down the offer, saying the student should not be associated with atheists.
