On July 13, 2020, a tragic incident occurred in Toulouse, France, that left the football community in shock.
A 26-year-old man, Christopher Aurier, died in hospital after being shot in the stomach outside a nightclub in the early hours of Monday.
According to a police source, a man handed himself into police on Tuesday and confessed to being the gunman responsible for Christopher's death.
The prosecutor's office confirmed that a man was being held over the death, and local newspaper La Depeche reported that an argument over a girlfriend could have been behind the shooting.
Christopher Aurier, the younger brother of Tottenham defender Serge Aurier, was once considered a promising prospect but failed to establish himself in a major club, unlike his brother who has played for Paris Saint-Germain and Ivory Coast before joining Tottenham in 2017.
Christopher was currently playing for fifth division club Toulouse Rodeo.
