On July 15, 2020, a local online news journal published an interview with Paul WaKimani, a comedian who was part of the cast on Churchill Show, where he shared his struggles with depression following the death of his colleague, Emmanuel Makori, also known as Ayeiya, in a road accident along Magadi Road in 2017.

Ayeiya was 31 years old when he died, and his family claimed that he would have earned Sh. 300,000 every month until he retired at the age of 55. They demanded that WaKimani pay Sh. 21 million for his death, which he claims was an accident.

WaKimani revealed that after the accident, he was sued by Ayeiya's family and was served with a court order to pay the hefty sum. He also shared that he had fallen out with his friends and was contemplating selling his kidney to pay the amount.

Comedienne Zainabu Zeddy, a former Churchill Show comedian, revealed that WaKimani had been battling depression since Ayeiya's family asked him to pay the Sh. 21 million.
