On July 15, 2020, the High Court adjourned the Willie Kimani murder case, citing concerns over the lack of space to accommodate all parties in the courtroom.

Justice Jessie Lessit expressed concerns that the small tent provided by the Judiciary could not hold everyone while adhering to the Health Ministry's directives on social distancing, aimed at containing the COVID-19 pandemic and curbing further spread.

The case, which was meant to resume hearing after a long break occasioned by COVID-19, has been pushed to Monday next week to give the Judiciary enough time to procure a bigger tent.

The four Administration Policemen and an informer charged with the murder of human rights lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwendwa, and a taxi driver Joseph Muiruri on June 23, 2016, will have to wait longer for their case to proceed.

The prosecution had lined up 43 witnesses, with only two yet to testify prior to the adjournment.
