On Tuesday, July 14, a tragic incident occurred at Amalemba trading centre, located on the outskirts of Kakamega Town, where a middle-aged man died in his private vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, the man had parked his vehicle on the roadside at 4:30pm, heading towards Vihiga from Kakamega, but failed to move an inch thereafter.

When police officers arrived at the scene over 30 minutes later, they found the man had already died.

One eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that they could not help the man because he was not wearing a face mask, fearing he might have succumbed to COVID-19.

Another witness, Eunice, expressed shock at the man's death, saying, 'In my entire life, I have never seen a man dying at the wheel. There is more to his death.'

The deceased was identified as an Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) employee, who was in charge of organizing the annual event in Kakamega County.

The body was moved to Kakamega County Referral Hospital morgue as investigations into his death commenced.
