Nairobi Huduma centres are set to be closed temporarily for fumigation in a bid to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Public Service and Gender on July 14, 2020, the closure would happen on different dates across various Huduma centres.

As part of the measures to contain the spread of the virus, the Public Service Commission has scaled down operations after 10 of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.

Acting Health director-general Patrick Amoth stated that the department would take all necessary measures to limit the further spread of the virus.

“Taking into account the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Nairobi in the past week and the high number of customer traffic we are experiencing, we will be temporarily closing Nairobi Huduma centre for fumigation. We will start with Huduma Centre GPO on July 14,”
