On July 14, 2020, a brazen robbery attempt in Eastleigh, Nairobi, turned violent when the perpetrators opened fire, leaving a resident seriously injured.

Fortunately, the incident was captured on camera, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has since launched a manhunt for the two armed gangsters.

According to eyewitnesses, the duo was seen escaping on a motorbike after the botched robbery, with onlookers scrambling for safety as gunshots rang out.

One witness, who took to social media to express outrage, tweeted, "Robbers shot someone in a botched robbery in Eastleigh 14th street. These guys must be brought to book," and tagged the DCI.

The sleuths responded promptly, affirming that the gangsters would be tracked down and brought to justice.

"Good evening, detectives based at Buruburu have commenced investigations into this unfortunate incident with the aim of bringing the culprits to book," the DCI responded.

The detectives also confirmed that the victim had been rushed to a hospital and was in a stable condition.

This incident comes on the heels of a similar robbery attempt in Kilimani, Nairobi, where two thugs were apprehended by DCI detectives on June 29, 2020, after they were caught on camera robbing a pedestrian along Lenana Road.

The two suspects, Timothy Jahan Muzami and Humphrey Minyata, were arrested a few days after the footage was shared on social media.
