A 13-year-old girl from Narok County has been rescued from a forced marriage after being lured by two men in the Maji Moto area.
According to local leaders, the girl's father had arranged for her to marry a 51-year-old man, but she ran away and went to live with a 35-year-old man.
Chifu Moine Mayone, the local leader, said the girl had been forced into the marriage but had escaped and was now living with another man.
Mayone warned locals against marrying off young girls and said the government would take action against such cases.
He also revealed that the three men, including the girl's father, had been arrested by the police.
