As the world grapples with the resurgence of COVID-19 cases, many countries are reimposing lockdowns and other restrictions to contain the spread of the virus.
Spain and India are the latest countries to reimpose lockdowns in their respective states, with Catalonia and Bihar being the affected regions.
According to the BBC, health authorities in Spain have issued an order for around 160,000 people in Lleida city to be sent to forced quarantine.
Similarly, Bihar will go into a 16-day lockdown starting from July 16, 2020.
These developments come as State House in Nairobi is already under total lockdown due to new COVID-19 cases.
Other places where lockdowns are being announced include California in the US, Bangalore in southern India, Bogotá in Colombia, Melbourne in Australia, Tehran in Iran, Hong Kong, and Morocco's northern city of Tangiers.
As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how these new lockdowns will impact the daily lives of millions of people around the world.
