Published on July 14, 2020, Rongai lawmaker Raymond Moi has expressed his readiness to inherit his younger sibling Gideon Moi's Baringo senate seat in 2022.
Speaking at a public event in his constituency, Raymond hinted that Gideon will be contesting for the presidency in the next elections.
Raymond also dismissed his opponents who plan to contest against him in the 2022 parliamentary elections, stating that he will defeat them as he did in 2013 and 2017.
He jokingly advised his opponents to pray for his departure to take over Gideon's seat or even the governorship, allowing them to contest for Rongai but requiring his blessings.
As sons of the late President Daniel Moi, Raymond and Gideon are known to be the custodians of the family's political interests.
During the burial of President Moi, Raymond handed over his father's baton to Gideon, a move analysts believe was the family and community's blessing for Gideon to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
