On July 14, 2020, the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) launched the 'Form ni Safi' campaign to promote clean content in matatus.

The campaign, led by KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua, aims to encourage matatu drivers and touts to play 'clean' music in their vehicles.

As part of the campaign, matatus that meet the board's classification guidelines can win a Sh10,000 cash reward.

The public is asked to vote for vehicles with disciplined crews, and the KFCB has already picked a winner, 'Mufasa- PeaceMaker' (Embassava Sacco), which garnered 254 votes.

John Thiong'o, a matatu driver, and his conductor, Hamisi Mtani Abdul, were the first winners of the KFCB #FormNiSafi PSV campaign, plying route 125/126 Magadi.

The campaign is part of the KFCB's efforts to promote moral values via music and films played in matatus, which are a central part of Kenyan culture.
